The WDVX "Blue Plate Special" live web/broadcast (www.wdvx.com, 89.9/102.9 FM) in the Knoxville Visitor Center presents Two Man Gentlemen Band and Tennessee Sheiks. Free. 12 noon.

Now based in Florida, JP Soars & The Red Hots won the International Blues Challenge in 2009, and they are playing at Brackins Blues Club in Maryville tonight. 9 pm.
Friday, September 30:
A special Bluegrass concert, "Sounds Like Home: A Night of Music from the Cumberlands," will serve as prelude to the Louie Bluie Music & Arts Festival in Cove Lake State Park. Concert lineup & more info.

Saturday, October 1:
Now in it's 5th year, the Louie Bluie Festival has moved from June to October, but it still takes place in beautiful Cove Lake State Park in Caryville, just a short drive up I-75. It keeps getting better and better every year. Check out the music lineup. Gates open at 10 am, and the festival runs till 7:45 pm.

The Smoky Mountain Blues Society presents a Blues Cruise on the Star of Knoxville riverboat, featuring Geoff Trabalka & The West Side Cats. Boarding begins at 2 pm. Casting off at 3.

As National Hispanic Heritage Month concludes, "Alive After Five" at the Knoxville Museum of Art presents Rolando Matias & The Afro-Diziak Quintet. 6:00 pm.
